About the River Region High School Grant

You may be eligible for a grant toward tuition and fees of up to:
$1,745 per quarter***
if you pursue a bachelor’s degree in:
  • Business Administration (BBA)
  • Healthcare Management (BS)
  • Information Technology (BS)
  • Psychology (BA)
  • Public Health (BS)
  • Criminal Justice (BS)
$1,676 per quarter***
in the Medical Assisting (AS) program
$1,408 per quarter***
in the Physical Therapist Assistant (AS) program

To qualify you must:

  • Be a high school or home school graduate or GED recipient in Autauga, Elmore, Lowndes or Montgomery County
  • Be a first-time college student (high school dual-enrollment students are eligible)
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 at high school graduation
  • Be accepted into an undergraduate program at South University, Montgomery
  • Have a signed Memorandum of Understanding on file

To continue receiving the grant after your first term, you must:

  • Pass all courses in your prior term with a C or better
  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements
  • Maintain at least part-time enrollment

Sign Up for Our 6 Week Virtual College Readiness Summer Session

This course is offered at no charge to any new high school graduate who wants to improve their English and math skills.

Measuring Student Progress

At the start of the session, each student will take a standardized assessment to determine where that student and their instructors should focus their time and energy during the course. Students will complete another assessment at the end of the course to measure their progress. These courses are non-credit bearing and do not transfer into our academic program offerings or the offerings of any other institution. This course will take place in a Virtual Environment utilizing technology requiring students to have a laptop or desktop computer and a stable internet connection. The student may utilize the computer lab at South University to access this course if no laptop/desktop or stable internet is available. Student/Parent is responsible for all transportation costs associated with attending courses at South University, Montgomery.

Math: Monday and Wednesday 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM

English: Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM
